Dear Whaanau

The Board of Trustees are having a Hangi Fundraiser Saturday – 29th May - pick up between 2 - 3 p.m. outside the school hall. Remember to bring your tickets for proof of purchase.

We are asking Whaanau to help us by supplying the following:

 Potatoes – Te Haapai Oo (5 per child)
 Pumpkin – Te Amorangi (1 per child)
 Bread for stuffing – Te Amorangi (1 per child)
Could these please be delivered to the school office by Thursday 27th May.

Tickets to purchase the Hangi will be available from Monday 24th May from the school office, the cost is as follows;
___$15 – HANGI PACK OR
___$18 – HANGI PACK & STEAMED PUDDING WITH CUSTARD

CAITLIN SMITH’S AMAZING VOICE

Brave Caitlin Smith’s Imaginary Band is in town on 4 May. Caitlin Smith (piano and vocals), Lance McNicholl (guitar) and Steve Cournane (percussion and cymbals) are a dream team performing jazz and folk music.
Legally blind since birth, Caitlin is a mesmerizing, prolific and passionate performer, and a huge fan of Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen.
Caitlin Smith is a song-poet and story singer, and a tireless advocate for accessibility issues and the healing and transformative power of creativity. A vocal and song-writing coach to many of our best-known artists, Caitlin Smith combines poetry and music in unforgettable performances.
Session, gigging and touring musician and film score composer Lance McNicholl has been a go-to guitarist in New Zealand since the 1980s.
Steve Cournane is a drummer and composer who won a Tui for NZ Jazz album of the year in 2002.

BBQ Competition in Thames

Totally Thames Incorporated, SolarPunk Aotearoa and SCA NZ (Steak Cook Off Association) present "Get Your Meat & Vege On" - a BBQ competition to be held in Thames to celebrate the inaugural SolarPunk Aotearoa Festival.
Teams will BBQ prime Steak and a vegetarian option for prizes and trophies as well as NZ Champion status!
Proceeds from the competition will help fund the SolarPunk festival and initiatives that support our causes and local business.
Get yourself a team together and stay tuned for ticketing and further details.
Ticket costs are for entering teams - the general public is encouraged to watch, learn and salivate!
